About Lena Padovano

Lena Padovano loved her community dearly and worked passionately to help support many programs in Midland Park. “Miss Lena” inspired and developed many innovative school PTA programs like, an informational mental health day and a cultural awareness week for students to appreciate diversity. Lena dedicated herself for more than 15 years to the Girl Scouts of America. She lead many troops of young Girl Scouts and she worked tirelessly to build strong relationships with the young girls she hoped to inspire. Lena’s greatest joy came from fostering learning and supporting the community’s young people. As an avid reader, Lena was a supporter of the friends of the library and served on the Midland Park Library Board and Friends of the Library Board.

In addition to Lena’s community minded spirit, “Miss Lena” welcomed everyone she met and left each person she interacted with feeling special and empowered. So many Midland Park community members have benefited from Lena's devotion, caring and dedication to the community she served for over twenty years. To recognize all of Lena’s great contributions, the foundation was developed to keep Lena’s spirit alive in our community.
